EXPERIENCE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years’ office experience Must exhibit good communication skills both written and verbal Excellent computer skills especially with Microsoft Office Suites.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: Experience in healthcare billing, collections, or patient accounting preferred. Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a business office preferred. Extensive knowledge of insurance rules and regulations Strong understanding of hospital patient accounting systems and software.
The Coordinator of the Business Office maintains billing and outstanding billing reports as assigned by management. The process includes correction to claims and accounts that have errors and reporting these errors to the appropriate Department Manager for corrective action. Reviewing posting documentation for accuracy and corrective resolution, including requesting contractual adjustments manually and late charge processing. Responsible for reviewing correspondence relating to aged accounts for resolution and report reimbursement trends and/or discrepancies to management. Assignment includes frequent contact with departmental, patient, and carrier personnel.
