Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Registered nurse or Clinical Manager, the LOEN is responsible for all clerical duties of this department. Duties include scheduling patients for appointments, answering telephones, entering patient charges/orders into the computer system. Acts as a unit liaison for patients, families, physicians and communicates needs to appropriate nursing staff.
LOEN Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school program required.
- Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing required. Associate’s Degree in practical nursing preferred.
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in computer software
- Able to multitask efficiently
- 1-2 years of clinical experience, particularly in an acute care setting preferred
- Proficiency in electronic documentation preferred
