Education Requirements: Master’s Degree: Nursing. May consider BSN candidate if enrolled in MSN program with 1 year completion period. Graduate for an accredited school of nursing program and postsecondary master’s degree in nursing program.
Experience and Skills Requirements: Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, patients, families, and faculty Capacity to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals Basic flexibility to adapt to changes in school and student needs. 3 years of clinical experience, particularly in an acute care setting.
Preferred Experience and Skills: Previous teaching or precepting experience in academic or clinical settings Strong knowledge of nursing education standards, accreditation requirements, and curriculum development.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of the School of Nursing, the Instructor is responsible for providing an atmosphere conducive to the student’s maximum learning through planned classroom and clinical instruction, which includes working directly with patients, families, nurses, physicians, instructors, and allied health care providers, and to evaluate the results of teaching and learning activities. Provides direct and indirect student learning opportunities. Communicates with Director and other faculty, as appropriate about student needs, concerns and progress.
