This opening is a seasonal position that will not exceed six months and may be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week.

Summary
Under limited supervision, Guest Information Specialist greets guests on the island, answers questions, and provides information, directions, maps, etc. Operates point-of-sale system for retail sales and parking fee programs. Hours for this position will vary between 8 am and 12 midnight, including weekends and holidays. Most work is performed outside and may be subject to extreme heat and adverse weather, including rain and cold temperatures. The season for this position is typically April/May through September/October and will not exceed six months in duration.

Description
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills and responds to guest inquiries professionally.
- Operation of a point-of-sale system for retail sales and parking fee transactions.
- Deposits all receipts, complete verification of deposit records, and ensures all monies are accounted for.
- Provides visitors with maps, directions, and information helpfully and courteously.
- Participates in training activities to optimize customer service skills.
- Restock brochures and notify the Manager of low inventory levels.
- Restock inventory and maintain a clean and orderly sales floor.
- Assists customers at Plaza gates as needed.
- Assists with special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Two years of retail/customer service experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid drivers license
- Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Credit, Criminal, and MVR background checks are required.
- Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 15 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- More than 50% of a typical workday will be spent walking, standing, balancing (standing on and using 1-2 steps), reaching, using fingers to handle objects such as money, and using repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and fingers.
- Between 25% and 50% of the typical workday will be spent stooping (bending at the waist) and lifting.
- Less than 25% of the day is spent kneeling, crouching, sitting, pushing, and pulling.
- Sensory abilities require vision, hearing, and touching, with more than 50% of the day spent communicating, talking, and hearing.
- Must have visual clarity to prepare and analyze data and figures, use the computer, and expansive reading.
- The majority of work is performed both indoors and outside. Work performed may be subject to extreme heat and adverse weather, including rain and cold temperatures.
- Noise level is considered normal to loud.
- Work is subjected to hazards, moving vehicles.
