Summer Waves is hiring for the 2025 summer season to work May through Labor Day. This is a seasonal position that includes working weekends and holidays.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of guest service duties including greeting guests and park visitors while providing information and services. Positions include gate entry, bag check, locker and cabana assistance. Ability to perform opening, daily, and closing duties as assigned while providing a knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming environment for all guests. Position requires heavy public contact, customer service, and excellent communication skills.
Description:
- Greeting guests and park visitors, provides information and assistance in a courteous and professional manner.
- Promotes Summer Waves services and facilities as well as other Jekyll Island Authority amenities such as Sea Turtle Center, Mini Golf, Bike Rental, Golf, Camping, etc.
- Resolves minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer, informs manager of major problems, complaints, disturbances or unhappy guests.
- Always displays a professional image through appearance, dress, and interactions with guests and fellow staff.
- Assist guests with scanning admission tickets at the entry gate. Ability to answer questions and provide directions when requested.
- Be familiar and ready to greet cabana guests when the park opens. Ensure guest arrives at their assigned cabana while maintaining each cabana throughout the day, ending with departure clean-up duties.
- Applies and follows organization policies and procedures.
- Assists in keeping the assigned area neat, and clean as well as any other park areas that require attention.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Demonstrated ability to follow guidelines and work independently; must be able to speak clearly, listen attentively and communicate effectively.
- Must be cheerful and able to provide customer service while adhering to company policies/procedures.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Successful completion of background check
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- More than 50% of the typical work day will be spent reaching, grasping and using repetitive motions of wrist, hands and fingers.
- Between 25% and 50% of the typical work day will be spent walking, standing, and sitting.
- Less than 25% of the day is spent climbing stairs, crouching and/or stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting.
- Must have visual clarity to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribing, use of computers and expansive reading.
- Sensory abilities required include vision, feeling and touching with more than 50% of the day spent talking and hearing.
- Majority of work will be performed both inside and outside. Work may be conducted in adverse environmental conditions.
- Noise level is considered normal.
