What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Windows Finance position at JELD-WEN, Inc.?
JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Manager, Windows Finance to join our growing team.
THE ROLE
As a valued member of the Windows Finance team, the Finance Manager will support the business by assisting in monthly accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, and planning in support of the Windows plant operations. This position will develop and enhance financial reporting and analysis of plant operations, provide timely and insightful analysis to the operations team, and assist in deployment of a strong internal control environment across our windows plants.
This position will be located in Charlotte, NC with estimated travel of 15-30% and reports to the Windows Controller.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain cost accounting and standard inventory accounting processes. Partner with accounting and operations to enhance existing methodology and inventory valuation reporting and analysis.
- Development of plant level cost of sales analysis, including productivity, price-volume-mix analysis and detailed manufacturing cost walks.
- Assists in the monthly accounting close, working with the operations, accounting and finance team as required. Reviews plant statements for thoroughness and accuracy. Assist with monthly management reporting.
- Assist in development of financial preparation of capital and expense requests
- Provide close financial support for the plant managers, assisting them with weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Leads actions to achieve the operating plan and productivity targets including validation of improvement initiatives, prioritization of projects and development of countermeasures.
- Coordinate between business unit finance and operations leaders to ensure plants are meeting reporting and financial timelines.
- Collaborate with accounting, operations and internal audit to improve the existing internal control environment. Identify areas of improvement and recommend improvements.
- Maintain strong communication between the plant, finance and operations leadership.
- Work closely with NA FP&A and Windows Accounting groups on reporting requirements to ensure consistency across Windows and NA reporting.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and other tasks in support of the business unit operations and finance staff as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong financial acumen accompanied by knowledge of financial accounting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and internal control principles.
- Excellent data analytics skills including working with databases and BI tools, MS Office suite.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other relevant discipline required, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- MBA or CPA/CMA preferred.
- 5 years of relevant experience; manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP, HFM, OneStream preferred.
