ABOUT THE ROLE
The JELD-WEN Summer Internship Program empowers talented undergraduate students to gain real-world working experience and professional development in one of six potential business areas. This position is in the Operations business area, with a focus on Souring. The internship program includes meaningful projects and challenging work assignments geared at developing professional competencies and skills in a chosen discipline. Additionally, throughout the summer internship, participants will have the opportunity for professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help enhance future leadership

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Examples of opportunities that Interns have received in the past are:
- Meet key Operation stakeholders and leaders and have the opportunity for networking
- Get to know the Category Manager organization and learn how critical their teams are to the success of our business
- Cross functional exposure and collaboration (Engineering, Sourcing, Plant Operations etc.)
- Participate in Operations Reviews and Director staff meetings
- Value Add Value Engineering (VAVE) for improved product functionality and cost savings
- Build a Master Contract Matrix
- Run an eRFQ (Electronic Request For Quotation) from start to finish and participate in bid event
- Support system and data analytics of supplier contact database
- Learn about MSAs (Master Service Agreements) and support negotiations for logs and lumber
- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and real-world projects
- Mentorship from experienced professionals in the field
- Opportunities for professional development and networking
- Exposure to Jeld-Wen's technical and business leadership
- A collaborative and inclusive work environment
SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
- Currently enrolled rising junior students majoring in: Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Information Systems or related major
- Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP/pivot tables)
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, with advanced PowerPoint proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation
- Curiosity and an innovative mindset
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and work to a high caliber
- Relevant major or academic coursework completed
- Rising Senior students (current Juniors)
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Relevant internship or previous work experience
- Leadership experience and relationship-building skills
