What are the responsibilities and job description for the Candy Maker "LEAD" (Trainee) 2nd Shift - (Internal Job Posting) position at Jelly Belly?
A job opening exist for “on-the-job” training basis for “Lead” Candymaker in the Kitchen Department. Performs the independent set-up, adjustment, and efficient operation of the various departmental candy cooking machines as well as all other related equipment. Includes the loading and unloading of specific confectionery equipment; the accurate measurement and addition of raw materials to in process product; the production of intermediate flavor blends and other specific products; and may involve the gathering, mixing, and further processing of specific materials involved in the production of confectionery product. May also be assigned to calculate, compile, and report production volumes or processing information.
Lead is also responsible for inputting recipes and calculating how much to make. Monitors the batching and cooking process and can identify and correct faults. Ensures the correct raw ingredients, colors and flavors are available for the candymakers at the cooking stand. Transfers materials in the reporting system and returns them to the warehouse when they are no longer needed. Works closely with the mogul operators to ensure there are no conflicts with what is being produced. Must be able to get forklift qualified.
Requires the physical capability to perform job related manual activity required to service and operate the equipment including frequent and repetitive lifting of as much as fifty (50) pounds unassisted. Work performed in areas with temperature higher than other air controlled manufacturing spaces.
