JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager will directly supervise all day-to-day operations of the purchasing team. This role will provide leadership and guidance for the team through changes to the business landscape and business processes. The Purchasing Manager will drive for total customer satisfaction and transparent communication with both internal and external stakeholders. The Purchasing Manager will develop and manage our supply base, monitoring supplier performance, bringing new suppliers on board, and utilizing the entire corporate supply chain to best serve out customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the daily operations of the purchasing department
- Develop and monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness of the customer service department and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to develop efficient processes and address improvement opportunities
- Provide training to team members and develop training materials, including work instructions and procedures to document processes in accordance with ISO9001
- Responsible for identifying and executing continuous improvement activities to streamline the supply chain with a focus on providing the best experience possible for our customers
- Administer performance management through regular employee meetings, annual performance reviews, and employee coaching
- Develop employees for growth and improvement, fostering an environment of personal and professional growth
- Manage and develop relationships with key contacts at suppliers through regular communication and
- Supplier visits, monitoring supplier performance
- Continuously seek to improve the flexibility and reliability of the JEM Supply chain by developing new suppliers and executing strategic sourcing decisions to drive reduced cost and reduced lead times
- Process purchase orders, acknowledgments, revisions, and price changes in the ERP software. Performs directly or indirectly all maintenance required to keep supplier data, price increases, and quotes up to date in business software.
- Manage the internal expedited process as it relates to procurement.
- Review all Deviations for component-related impact and take action accordingly.
- Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies through collaboration with other departments.
- Responsible for data integrity for purchased components: primary supplier, supplier price lists, lead time, minimum order quantity, and any other supplier-specific data requirements.
- Work with planning and production to review, set, and update part minimums, safety stock requirements, stock holding agreements, and feedback from sales.
- Negotiate pricing, and administer any contracts for assigned suppliers to achieve continued improvements in performance by suppliers
- Review, manage, and sign off on all ECO activity, including but not limited to verifying if the effectivity date is achievable or coordinating with sales and production based on supplier lead time for impacted component availability.
- Work with production and other internal team members to ensure jobs and sales orders are finalized at appropriate revisions to consume proprietary inventory and allow for procurement of the new revision.
- Provide costing as needed to the Strategic Pricing Manager for any component changes.
- Provide release to production information to the Purchasing team for analysis and establishment of minimums or other agreements as needed.
- Ensure the new supplier set-up process is followed and executed in accordance with JEM Work Instructions, and gather/exchange necessary documents and store them in the ERP system and Intranet.
- Directs, attends, and participates in staff meetings and related activities.
- Complies with all JEM policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR requirements.
- Supports JEM’s vision and mission and exemplifies JEM’s core values daily.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5 years of experience working with a formal ERP system (Epicor, SAP, Infor, Oracle, etc.)
- 5 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain-related role
- 2 years of experience supervising and leading a team of people
- Strong personal presence and comfortable presenting to others
- Bachelor/4-year degree (preferred)
- Experience working with CRM (preferred)
- Experienced with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
