Gaming Machine Technician

CLASSIFICATION: Key Employee
SUMMARY:
Responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of all Class II gaming machines. Responsible for a high level of guest service as well as perform repairs on an advanced level.

- Must be able to communicate and work with all departments.
- Follow all casino policy and procedures.
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all Class II gaming machines.
- Make sure that all machines and equipment are in compliance with all NIGC and internal regulations 100% of the time.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records on pass down logs, PM logs, M.E.A.L. card, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining an accurate attendance record.
- Must be able to diagnose equipment to the component level.
- Have the knowledge to read and understand electronic schematics.
- Perform all machine installations, conversions, moves and all major repairs of all associated equipment at an advanced level.
- Safely and effectively operate shop tool, electronic equipment and soldering equipment.
- Must be able to answer a call within a 3 minute time frame.
- Have the ability to complete machine moves/setup and release with little supervision.
- Handles assigned projects with little supervision.
- Can understand and use the parts system and communicates with the Tech Supervisor on required parts for repair.
- Other duties assigned by management.
ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS AND INFORMATION:
- Progressive keyboard.
- Boards containing EPROM chips.
- Currency acceptor area of the games.
- Currency acceptor cash storage boxes.
- Information regarding currency and Class II Gaming Machine tickets.
- Diagnostic Screens.
- Main Game Configuration Screen.
- Clear chip and configuration chip applications.
KEYS:
- Game door keys.
- Tech room key.
SIGNATORY ABILITY:
- Record Access Cards.
- Log Sheets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum one (1) or more years related experience, training or combination of education and experience.
- A degree from a two (2) year college or a diploma from a technical/gaming school and at least one (1) year of Slot Technician experience required; or, have an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must be able to read operator manuals and complete projects with minimum supervisions.
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Tribal preference.

Members of the Jena Band of Choctaw Tribe shall be given absolute preference with respect to hiring, promotions, training, contracting and separation from employment. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of one (1) year or more years related experience and/or training or combination of education and experience.
- A degree from a two (2) year college or a diploma from a technical/gaming school and at least one (1) year of Slot Technician experience required; or have an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must be able to read operator manuals and complete projects with minimum supervisions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to perform duties in a kneeling position.
- Must be able to life a minimum of 50 lbs.
- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.
- Also may be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment.
- Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. and 100 lbs. with assistance on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
