Sanitation Technician II
We’re searching for a Sanitation Technician II to report to the Sanitation and Maintenance Supervisor and be based in Columbus. This position is responsible for:
Working alone, or in conjunction with other team members, disassemble, clean and reassemble processing equipment, while evaluating the progress of the work in assigned cleaning areas.
Interacting with the Sanitation and Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize specific projects
Safely handling and apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
Maintaining sanitation equipment and materials in a secure, clean and organized manner
Complying with all food safety and quality policies and procedures.
Documenting all cleaning and sanitizing activities on appropriate cleaning and sanitizing checklists
Executing plant processing set up for the Production Team, based on direction from the Production Schedule and the Sanitation and Maintenance Supervisor
Assisting in product movement based on the direction of the Sanitation and Maintenance Supervisor and Production Manager
Assisting in recycling and general waste management
Assisting in writing SSOPs
Assisting Sanitation and Maintenance Supervisor with continuous improvement projects
Qualified applicants will have the following education and experience:
High School Diploma or GED highly preferred
Availability to work third shift during the week and various hours, as needed, on weekends
A minimum of 3 years of food Sanitation experience is preferred
Ability to perform basic math skills for calculating chemical concentrations
Ability to read and write in English to complete documentation and understand Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Data Sheets
Capable of lifting 50 lbs repeatedly and frequently
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, climb, stoop, kneel and stretch while executing the job
Ability to work in wet or humid conditions while performing the duties of the job, and occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions while performing certain job duties
