Operators are responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC lathes, mills, and machining centers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform initial basic machine setup
- Running lathes, milling machines, and machining centers.
- Inspecting finished parts by using measuring tools
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns
- Assist other machinists with troubleshooting issues.
- Read and interpret mechanical schematics.
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during the machining process with the Lead Programmer
- Keep records of production runs, machine settings, maintenance activities, and issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe, clean work environment in compliance with industry standards.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have previous experience setting up and operating CNC machines.
- Basic reading, writing, and some advanced measurement and arithmetic skills.?
- Basic computer literacy. Familiarity with the use of a mouse and keyboard.?
- Basic knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel.?
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics.
- Ability to use the following tools: CMM, micrometer, caliper, and basic measuring tools.
- Ability to read precision measuring tools accurately.
- Ability to read dimensional prints.
- Must have 5 years of?machining background.

- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrate aptitude for mechanical measurement
- Coachable and receptive to firsthand training from experienced team members.
- Maintain professional, courteous relationships with co-workers.
- Consistent attendance record with a?willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Professional appearance and ability to represent the company positively in interactions with customers and vendors.
- Team player, positive & engaged contributor to the team, willing to learn & adapt to business needs
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
