We are seeking a Foundry Foreman who is responsible for supervising the production activities within the Foundry.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Clean and smooth molds, cores, and core boxes, and repair surface imperfections.
- Clean production equipment.
- Move and position workpieces such as mold sections, patterns, and bottom boards, using cranes, or signal others to move workpieces.
- Tend to machine that bond cope and drag together to form completed shell molds.
- Remove workpieces from molds.
- Pour molten metal into molds, manually or using crane ladles.
- Identify and address defects or issues in the casting process, and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Ensure that all foundry equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
- Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to safety procedures and protocols, including wearing protective gear and ensuring a safe work environment to prevent injuries and accidents.
- Adhere to safety protocols to manage risks associated with elevated temperature and heavy material.
Requirements
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4-5 years of foundry molding experience, preferred
- Knowledge of foundry equipment, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to use forklifts, wrenches, grinders, drills, bandsaws, and cutoff wheel
- Industrial setting
- Collaborative work environment.
- Emphasis on communication.
- Exposure to loud noises.
- Exposure to elevated temperatures
- Exposure to hazardous equipment.
- Required use of proper safety equipment (e.g., steel-toed boots, safety glasses) and adherence to safety procedures.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Coachable and receptive to firsthand training from experienced team members.
- Maintain a cheerful outlook and professional, courteous relationships with co-workers.
- Consistent attendance record with a willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Team player, positive & engaged contributor to the team, willing to learn & adapt to business needs
