Summary/objective

We are seeking a Foundry Foreman who is responsible for supervising the production activities within the Foundry.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Clean and smooth molds, cores, and core boxes, and repair surface imperfections.
  • Clean production equipment.
  • Move and position workpieces such as mold sections, patterns, and bottom boards, using cranes, or signal others to move workpieces.
  • Tend to machine that bond cope and drag together to form completed shell molds.
  • Remove workpieces from molds.
  • Pour molten metal into molds, manually or using crane ladles.
  • Identify and address defects or issues in the casting process, and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Ensure that all foundry equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and protocols, including wearing protective gear and ensuring a safe work environment to prevent injuries and accidents.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to manage risks associated with elevated temperature and heavy material.

Requirements

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4-5 years of foundry molding experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of foundry equipment, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to use forklifts, wrenches, grinders, drills, bandsaws, and cutoff wheel

  • Industrial setting

  • Exposure to loud noises.
  • Exposure to elevated temperatures
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment.
  • Required use of proper safety equipment (e.g., steel-toed boots, safety glasses) and adherence to safety procedures.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Coachable and receptive to firsthand training from experienced team members.
  • Maintain a cheerful outlook and professional, courteous relationships with co-workers.
  • Consistent attendance record with a willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Team player, positive & engaged contributor to the team, willing to learn & adapt to business needs
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to teach new team members the basics of foundry work.

  • Ability to lift to fifty pounds.

  • Walking, bending, kneeling
