The Marketing Director is responsible for managing our marketing department by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating the marketing plans to those involved, and building awareness and positioning for our brands. This role requires a strong attention to detail, leadership skills, collaboration, and the ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload. The Marketing Director also demonstrates strong copywriting skills, knowledge in various marketing strategies, and has the ability to meet schedule deadlines. The person filling this role must be proactive, innovative, and intuitive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Develops goals and strategy for growing brand recognition and topline revenue
  • Initiates, develops and coordinates effective internal and external communication programs that are fresh, accurate, and consistent with company values and direction
  • Directs the efficient and effective development, production, and distribution of materials and media platforms to support company products and services
  • Develops and executes programs designed to project a true, favorable company image and gain public support for company objectives
  • Development, management and support of all efforts to increase brand awareness and market the company externally and towards revenue-generating opportunities
  • Oversight of external marketing activity including collateral development, multimedia materials/web development, trade shows, social media and branding
  • Creates interesting, informative, and compelling marketing and social media campaigns
  • Analyzes underperforming markets to establish and execute strategic, revenue generating action plans
  • Collaborates with the sales and business development teams to ensure consistency in all messaging, documentation, and advertising
  • Reviews press releases and articles for trade journals to publicize Company products and services and to create good will for the Company
  • Prepare annual budget. Monitor departmental budget
  • Performs technical updates to website formatting, content, and design
  • Maintains brand image and control of logos and other company collateral
  • Supervision of the marketing team including hiring, training, development, and delivering performance reviews
  • Manages third party marketing vendor relationships including sourcing, onboarding, and ongoing oversite of their objectives and deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7-10 years varied and progressive management experience in a marketing or communications environment, with a heavy emphasis on digital marketing; including three years of managerial and leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field of study.
  • Knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills with members of the team and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, overseeing, and maintaining corporate branding efforts including digital and online
  • Demonstrated track record of quantitative business results through marketing projects and/or campaigns that have been in the candidates direct control from creative process to implementation
  • Demonstrated experience creating social media content and using social media channels to improve brand awareness, sales lead generation and job applications
  • Ability to establish collaborative working relations and provide great support to multiple divisions across the company
  • Experience in supervising employees and managing workload
  • Multi-media and website production experience
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • PC skills (MS Office, internet research skills)

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The Marketing Director must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as business and marketing/social media plans. They should also demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, the Marketing Director should have knowledge of industry related software be able to touch type and be familiar with software like Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); able to communicate via cell phone and appropriate apps.

REASONING ABILITY:

The Marketing Director should possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in the English language.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the Marketing Director is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.

The Marketing Director work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position will be based in a professional office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
