JOB SUMMARY:
This position is a full time nonexempt position. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for coordinating logistics for ongoing legal cases and pre-suit matters while assisting the compliance department with license requirements for all branch locations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be highly detailed, and have the ability to work across multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. This position works under the direction of the Legal and Compliance Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Coordinate and update ongoing legal cases including; gathering data, managing schedules, and assisting with trial preparation.
- Support eDiscovery processes, facilitating the review and organization of digital documents.
- Compile information necessary to respond to interrogatories, document requests and requests for admission.
- Assist in maintaining license requirements for all offices and research laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Review and coordinate payment of attorney bills.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
- In addition to the duties described in the Job Summary, legal assistants are required to assist other legal and compliance team members as-needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree (A.A or A.S) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Six months to two-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports and correspondence with impeccable grammar. Must have the ability to speak clearly and effectively to customers, attorneys, and/or employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY:
Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Organized with the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Broad knowledge of various computer software applications. Exceptional computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office preferred. Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM is required.
