Position: JT Gymnastics Coaching and Special Events Coordinator
Reports to: JT Gymnastics Club Coordinator
Supervises: Recreational Gymnastics Staff/Special Events Staff
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three years of gymnastics coaching experience preferred; proven knowledge of gymnastics required.
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize duties and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all age levels, parents, school faculty, coaches, parent spirit group, supervisor(s), and the community.
- Certification in competitive gymnastics safety course (courses can be completed after hiring).
- Exhibits strong core values including respect, trust and honesty.
- Satisfies all district requirements regarding physical health, citizenship, and background check.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: To assist in the operation of JT Gymnastics program and serve as a foundational member of the coaching staff and program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of gymnastics coaching skills, leadership, and teamwork.
- Assists in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining standards of student/athlete behavior.
- Models positive reinforcement with students and staff.
- Fosters good school-community relations regarding the gymnastics program.
- Plans, organizes, leads and schedules staffing for special events and summer camps.
- Designs lesson plans for recreational classes and competitive groups to align with USAG standards.
- Collaborates with Assistant Coordinator to create monthly schedule for recreational instructors and communicates with them regarding schedules, classes, and special events.
- Coaches a competitive team group and recreational classes as needed.
- Attends all meets/sessions for own group as well as additional sessions as needed.
- Assists Coordinator with staff development, reviews, and meetings.
- Assists with the oversight of safety conditions in the facility and provides a safe place for classes to take place in the facility.
- Assists with purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as needed.
- Assists in the hiring and training process as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract
