Position : Teacher - Elementary Summer Literacy Academy (20 openings)

  • 7 Kindergarten Teachers
  • 5 First Grade Teachers
  • 4 Second grade Teachers
  • 4 Third grade Teachers

Reports to : Elementary Summer Literacy Academy Principals, Director of Student Learning and Literacy

Supervises : None

Qualifications :

  • Hold a current Reading Specialist certificate or Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.
  • Completed LETRS or IMSE Orton-Gillingham training.
  • Satisfy all district requirements regarding physical health and citizenship.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

    • Position Goals : To provide intensive remediation in reading to Kindergarten through Third grade students.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual reading needs of the students.
  • Provide individual and / or small group instruction using specific intervention materials.
  • Monitor progress and maintain tracking documents to show growth.
  • Administer iStation Reading or Literacy First Assessment at end of the program.

    • Terms of Employment : Jenks Public Schools Temporary Assignment Contract - June 2 - June 26, 2025; Monday-Thursday, 8 : 30am -12 : 30pm.

  • Dates subject to change pending Board approval of last day of school.

    • Compensation : Stipend - $1,800.00

  • A required Summer Program in-service trainings will be conducted for staff prior to the program starting date; Dates and times TBD.
