The responsibilities of the Development and Community Outreach Coordinator includes Development and Community Outreach as outlined below.
Essential Duties:
Development Coordination
- Research new grant opportunities to support current and future Jenna’s Promise initiatives and needs, and cultivate new donors and relationships with foundations, high net worth individuals, and corporations
- Present proposals for future grants/funding to Executive Director
- Ensure all donors receive thank you letters
- Enter all donations into Network for Good
- Assist with the annual appeal process
- FEMA – Work with state and federal partners on natural disaster reimbursements
- Explore and apply for tax credit grants
- Work with the Executive Director and Leadership Team to understand vision and goals for Jenna’s Promise, and report regularly on activities to Executive Director
- Manage grant deliverables for grants specifically assigned to the development coordinator
- Manage and assist with maintenance of the master grant list
- Research and apply for town appropriations
- Explore sustaining fundraising and grant opportunities such as endowments and bequests
- Engage in professional development opportunities and share/present information obtained to appropriate team members
- Provide detailed monthly reports to the executive team and board on activities, including recent and current projects, prospects and opportunities
- Coordinate and engage in regular strategy meetings with the development team
- Understand departmental budgets to determine grant needs and appropriate funding sources
- Work with appropriate town, state, or federal partners around permitting and compliance needs as required by grants in collaboration with members of the executive team
Community Outreach
- Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.
- Schedule regular outreach exhibitions in the community and provide feedback on community responsibility.
- Assist with developing partnerships to bring in more support groups.
- Assist in the preparation of an annual budget for community outreach activities.
- Assist Executive Director and Leadership Team to nurture new and old relationships with collaborative partners.
- Effectively recruit and screen volunteers
- Assist in the organization and running of special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives.
- Assist in the cultivation and development of proposals.
- Track and report performance.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social work, communications, marketing, business or related fields. Preferred experience of 2 to 5 years in donor relations and grants management, conducting outreach, community engagement, case management and non-profit fund development. Outstanding written communication
Work/Physical Requirements:
- This position will require work in an office setting primarily, where customer service and organization skills will be a necessity. This individual may spend several hours in front of a computer, and they may be interrupted by employees, emails, and phone calls throughout their workday.
· There may be potential for some remote work accommodation periodically.
· Ability to lift to 25 pounds, twist, squat, bend and perform repetitive keyboard activities.
