The Yard/Warehouse Representative I is responsible for receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. This entry-level position requires the safe operation of a forklift to stock all lumber and building materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment safely.
- Maintain a positive work environment.
- Assist warehouse associates and supervisors in maintaining an organized workspace.
- Perform tasks such as emptying trash receptacles and keeping bays and staging areas clean.
- Receive incoming products and commodities.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Count and record material receipts.
- Stock received materials in designated bins or storage locations.
- Collaborate with inventory control to count and organize warehouse materials.
- Comply with company policies and guidelines.
- Operate forklifts with foot and hand controls.
- Load completed orders onto delivery equipment.
- Operate facility equipment as needed (bander, power tools, hand tools).
- Monitor inventory levels.
- Prioritize awareness of the work environment to achieve error-free results.
- Complete assigned training programs.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- No prior experience necessary.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
- Capacity to learn tape measure reading.
- Effective communication skills.
- Conflict resolution abilities.
- Familiarity with current technologies (Smartphone, Inventory Control Systems, business applications).
