We are seeking an experienced Data Manager to accelerate our data management efforts, ensuring the quality, security, and effective utilization of our data assets. Reporting to the Vice President of Data Management & Governance, the Data Manager will contribute to the formation and execution of a robust, scalable, and sustainable data governance framework; usable, effective data policies; and data standards that help Jennison get more value from its data through:
- Improved data quality
- Improved efficiency / reduced rework
- Minimized the risk of regulatory/compliance failures
- Optimized efficiency in data access and utilization
The initial focus of data governance and management will be the security master, performance and customer domains.
Your Impact
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work with business partners, governance peers, project teams, and leaders to gather and understand functional requirements that support business-impact-driven initiatives and enable operationalization of data management capabilities. Develop and advance the use of governance standards as part of project management methodology.
- Create and maintain data standards in support of quality improvement and data governance efforts
- Proactively identify project issues/risks/opportunities and suggest/implement solutions that improve the ability to deliver project milestones, OKRs, and deliverables to be achieved.
- Continually develop knowledge and experience in standards, tools, workflows, and concepts.
- Develop and deliver relevant and appropriate training materials and practices that can be delivered enterprise wide
- Assist in leading the implementation and adoption of an enterprise Data Catalog tool across internal stakeholders and affiliate partners
- Develop strong working relationships and cultivate trust across the enterprise through reliable problem-solving approaches for data challenges
- Develop and support the implementation and auditability of policies, standards, and guidelines for improving data quality, security, privacy, and metadata management
- Contribute data governance knowledge and insight to solution architecture efforts; participate in business and project planning to maximize data value.
Qualifications
Your required skills include:
- 5 years of experience in a data stewardship, data management/governance, business analysis, data quality, quality assurance, audit, or process modeling/documentation role
- Solid Project Management skills. Experience facilitating groups and gaining consensus on complex problems. Produce relevant status dashboards and reports
- Experience with at least one core data domain (customer, security master, client or product master, employee, etc.)
- Experience leading data governance software integrations with vendor solutions and data providers (e.g. Collibra, Informatica, Purview)
- Experience in, or knowledge of Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Data Lineage tooling and principles
- Experience in evaluating processes and technologies and making recommendations to senior audiences
- Strong interpersonal, influence, presentation, and tailored storytelling (both written and verbal) to a variety of audiences
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, interacting with and influencing stakeholders/business units
- Eagerness to learn, try new things, and share your experience and knowledge
Good to have:
- Experience writing standards, policies, guidelines, and training
- Experience as a former steward or part of a data quality function
- Experience with data related technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Informatica, Oracle, data warehousing, data lakes, ETL, and/or Reporting and Analytics
- Experience in Agile and Lean philosophies and frameworks
- Exposure to cloud portals (AWS, Azure, GCP)

The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $175,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
