Sitework Construction Estimator

JENNS Hardscape Construction is looking for a Sitework Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. JENNS Hardscape specializes in Segmental Retaining Wall Systems and various other Civil Sitework. A Civil and or Infrastructure construction estimating background is preferred. This employee will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a requirement of this position as well as meticulous attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must also be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons.

Estimator position includes:

• Generate cost estimates for both small and large projects, as well as discussing and negotiating final project details with clients
• Review plans/specifications
• Review bid requirements for projects ensuring all aspects of the project are documented and accounted for.
• Prepare takeoffs, work with subs and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify, manage and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring bids are completed timely, completely, and accurately.
• Develop and sustain working relationships with clients through direct communication.
• Properly turn over bid documents for review in a timely manner
• Communicating with customers on Submittals, Permitting & Scheduling.
• MS Excel, Word, Outlook & Bluebeam knowledge
• Monitoring all aspects of contract compliance
• Track project milestones, deliverables and budgets
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and senior management in a timely and clear fashion.
• Follow awarded contracts as assigned – may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc.
