Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' conditions through patient observation and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities by implementing tailored care plans that respect resident rights.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safe transfers for clients.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction, particularly for those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks as needed.
Skills
- Experience in long-term care settings is preferred, with knowledge of assisted living practices.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and approaches to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining client confidentiality and dignity.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols and patient observation skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
