Position Summary
The role of Mold Maker II involves greater independence and responsibility in creating and adapting molds for GFRC manufacturing. You will collaborate with the design team to meet production specifications, perform quality inspections, and support production runs. This position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement while developing expertise in mold-making processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and adapt molds based on specifications from blueprints, schematics, and design input
- Set up and operate molding equipment, ensuring proper materials and tolerances are met
- Conduct inspections before, during, and after molding operations using measuring tools
- Support production runs and performs quality control testing on molds
- Maintain knowledge of materials, processes, and safety standards
- Assist in cross-training and provide guidance to less experienced team members
- Support team operations to achieve business results
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 2-4 years of experience in mold-making and/or Tool & Die background
- Certified to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, preferred
- Completion of relevant technical training or apprenticeship is preferred
- Strong understanding of machinery and mold-making processes
- Autobody experience is a plus
- Must be computer savvy
- Proficient in problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of applicable safety standards and procedures
- Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative
Work Environment
- Perform job duties in a typical manufacturing/plant setting
- This position regularly requires the use of safety equipment, which generally entails regular and repetitive motions along with exposure to loud noises or hazardous material. All safety procedures should be adhered to in these situations
