RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expert knowledge of ERP/MRP is a requirement, preferably Microsoft AX or other Windows based system.
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with LEAN practices and principles.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point are essential.
- Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of TQM (Total Quality Management)
- Strong interpersonal and communication, both written and oral, skills.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
- Problem solving, detail oriented and mathematical aptitude skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to interface and collaborate with all levels of management.
- Understanding of process and workflow conceptualization in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication and mechanical assembly workflow a plus.
- APICS-Advancing Productivity, Innovation & Competitive Success and/or CPIM Certified in Production and Inventory Management credentials preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Based on Production Schedules set forth by Planning Mgr., plans and prepares production work orders and schedules for manufacture of industrial products with use of ERP/MRP.
- Ability to prioritize work activities based on emergent needs of business.
- Compiles work order routing sequences which may include, part pick, weld, paint, outside vendor process and other related operations.
- Update operational work times within routing sequences.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each operation of individual product.
- Prints drawings and compiles Work Orders for shop floor.
- Sets up new part numbers, routings and BOM’s (bill of material) in ERP software.
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Completes work within an expected period to satisfy customer requirements.
- Enters cycle count information and update stock locations in ERP as needed.
This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in production scheduling. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles, optimizing production efficiency, and managing inventory levels. They should also possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
