We are looking for a Financial Analyst with government compliance experience to provide accurate and data driven information on the company’s financial and operational performance. You will research and analyze both financial and non-financial information to help the company understand trends and make well informed decisions. The role will be a key part of the Finance department and will collaborate with other team members across multiple departments in support of the business.
Job Overview:
This position requires a background with government compliance, specifically, FAR/DFAR and CAS compliance as well as a demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis. Experience with cost accounting principles will also be needed as this role will be deeply involved in project-based cost accounting to ensure compliance with government regulations. The person should be a self-starter, eager to grow with a growing organization and able to demonstrate sound judgement in decision-making and problem solving. A list of key position responsibilities are as follows:
- Perform traditional accounting functions, such as month, quarter and year end close duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, report generation and publication, and analysis.
- Participate in and lead portions of the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes
- Prepare project reporting and analysis and review with Program Management and Operations team
- Participate in bid, proposal and contract negotiations processes
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and support audit-related activities
- Project based cost accounting activities
- Participate in financial audits
- Perform adhoc analysis as needed

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience
- Advanced degrees and certifications highly desired
- In-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Firm understanding of contracts and related compliance as it relates to government contracts
- Experience using business operating systems such as JobScope or equivalent
- Experience using financial consolidation and reporting software such as COGNOS or Hyperion
- Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Experience using data warehouse and reporting tools, such as Incorta or equivalent
