ABOUT JEREMIAH PROGRAM

Jeremiah Program (JP) is a nonprofit organization helping single mothers invest in themselves so they can thrive and take steps towards economic mobility by partnering with them to access higher education, affordable childcare, housing, skills training and career development. Jeremiah Program offers one of the nation’s most successful strategies for disrupting poverty, two generations at a time. At JP, we believe that no mother should have to choose between investing in herself or supporting her children. Our holistic approach invites single mothers into the leadership tent with all of their identities to bear in achieving their goals in pursuit of economic mobility.

Founded in 1993, this year JP is supporting over 2,000 moms and kids across five residential and four non-residential campuses: Austin, Fargo, Minneapolis, St. Paul and Rochester and Baltimore, Boston, Brooklyn and Las Vegas respectively.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Development, in partnership with the Executive Director, leads efforts to meet the Jeremiah Boston campus’s annual fundraising goal of $865,000. Revenue is generated through foundation grants, individual donors, special events and the organization’s Annual Appeal. This role is responsible for cultivating and stewarding a diverse portfolio of donors and strategic relationships to meet fundraising goals that fuel regional growth and programming.

While developing and executing strategies for donor engagement, cultivation, retention and stewardship, the Director plays a key role in advancing ambitious goals through high-impact events, campus tours and one-on-one donor engagement.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, relationship builder, strategic planner, is comfortable managing up, and who brings rigor to data management and thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment. The Boston campus is newer to project management and is becoming more familiar with project management tools and methodologies, so comfort navigating ambiguity is essential. A deep commitment to social justice—and to Jeremiah Program’s mission of disrupting the cycle of poverty—is critical, along with a donor-centric approach and a dedication to racial equity.
