Jerome L. Taylor Trucking, Inc. (JLT), the fastest growing waste collection company in the DC region. JLT is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dispatcher to join our trucking team. The ideal candidate is an experienced dispatcher, specializing in local operations, familiar with the DC region, experienced with GPS, Video Monitoring and Truck Telematics systems. Experience in the waste industry is preferred. This role requires strong communications skills, a thorough understanding of dispatch technologies, and the ability to manage driver activities while fulfilling the needs of the customer.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of freight.
- Utilize proprietary ERP to manage all dispatch activities, specifically Navusoft.
- Maintain effective communication with drivers utilizing provided technology.
- Analyze dispatch data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
- Employ best practices in logistics and phone etiquette.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper pricing and billing for each transaction.
- Thoroughly review each completed route with the driver to ensure compliance with company procedures and completion of all scheduled work.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during dispatch operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dispatch role for an industrial trucking operation, preferably including waste and recyclables collection
- Familiarity with waste industry ERP’s (Navusoft, Trux, Tower, WAM)
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed decisions.
- Proficient in using GPS technology for route optimization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous experience in dispatching, preferably in the waste industry or similar operations.

Job Duties:
- Manage a fleet of over 100 trucks
- Ensure proper billing for each work order assigned to you dispatch
- Works in conjunction with other departments to resolve customer disputes.
- Effectively communicates issues, needs and opportunities with employees and other managers.
- Provide pricing for services to customers
- Interviews customers and records interview information onto the computer.
- Talks with customers by phone or in person and receives orders for installation, turn on, discontinuance, or change in service.
- Adjusts complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring to complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and effective use of software applications.
- Delivers services to customers in a manner that promotes goodwill. Interacts with customers and employees to determine service requirements, resolve problems or complaints, and seek cost-effective, safe environmentally sound solutions to service issues.
Requirements:
- 5 years of Customer Service experience in a high call volume atmosphere.
- Must have experience working in an industrial trucking environment
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge and adept at using software including Microsoft Word and Excel. Adobe PDF and GPS equipped video monitoring software knowledge
- Excellent verbal communications skills.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
