Amazon DSP Dispatcher

We are an Amazon Delivery Service Partner looking for a hardworking individual with a "CAN DO" attitude to join our Operations Team as a Temporary Dispatch Associate. The candidate must have a high tolerance to stress with an ability to solve delivery problems under pressure.

Seasonal Dispatch Associates act as the communication point for our Delivery Associates who are out on the road delivering Amazon packages each day. They handle both emergency & non-emergency situations, receiving and relaying messages to Delivery Associates, and monitoring vehicles on the road. The ideal Dispatch Associate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. They must also be able to multitask and work well under pressure with no supervision.

Some Details:

• Expect to work 8 hour days, with overtime.
• This position is a seasonal position with a limited duration during the holiday season. Your expected termination date is January 15, 2022 or sooner, depending on business needs. High performing Dispatch Associates may be offered permanent employment before the termination date.
• Some days may start as early as 5AM and some at 1PM or later.

• We are looking for an individual with a VERY flexible schedule to work ANY days of the week (Mon-Fri and Sat-Sun), as needed.
• As a Dispatch Associate, you will be required to go through the same onboarding process & driver training as Delivery Associates, and are required to perform deliveries and gain hands-on experience to understand the job of a Delivery Associate.

• Although this is primarily a dispatch job, on any given working day, you may be expected to drive & deliver packages alongside our Delivery Associates.
• This position includes paid training and paid sick leave.

Responsibilities:

• Load, unload, prepare, inspect, re-fuel and safely operate company-provided transport vehicles, including, but not limited to, Extended Cargo Vans and Freightliner Step Vans.

• Deliver packages on varying routes to numerous addresses, both business and residential.
• Follow strict safety standards on and off the road.
• Interact with Amazon customers and the public in a professional and positive manner.
• Use handheld technology to manage the delivery process, and vehicle safety & maintenance procedures.
• Receive emergency and non-emergency phone calls from Delivery Associates and document all information, incidents, and issues.
• Address Delivery Associate problems and requests by communicating directly with Amazon personnel and providing solutions.
• Enter data in various systems and Google documents, maintain logs, record calls, activities and other information.
• Prioritize phone calls according to urgency and importance.
• Use a mobile phone and computer to manage communications with Delivery Associates and manage vehicles.
• Monitor progress of Delivery Associates throughout the day and coordinate / prioritize package rescues, as needed.
• Monitor, notify and confirm Delivery Associates clock out/in for lunch break(s) according to policy.
• Enter data in various system and documents, maintain logs, record calls, activities and other information.
• Utilizing GPS systems to monitor Delivery Associates and track vehicles.
• Safely drive and operate delivery vehicles periodically.
• Other relevant duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to lift packages (up to 70 lbs) and be able to get in and out of a van quickly/often throughout a route.
• Must be able to operate and navigate a delivery van.
• Must consent to a 4-panel drug test, including DMV vehicle record check.
• Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
