The Dump Truck Operator is responsible for operating and driving dump trucks to transport materials such as soil, gravel, rock, sand, and construction debris to and from specified locations. This role requires precision driving, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with site teams to ensure efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Operation:
- Operate dump trucks with manual or automatic transmissions in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load, transport, and unload materials at designated locations.
- Maneuver the truck in confined spaces and on uneven terrain as required.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations for vehicle operation and road safety.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Follow site-specific safety rules, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Material Handling:
- Accurately load and unload materials while minimizing spillage and ensuring load stability.
- Communicate with loaders and other operators to align transport schedules and volumes.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of loads, including weight, type of material, and delivery destinations.
- Complete daily logs, inspection reports, and any other required documentation.
