Jerry Pittman and Associates is hiring a Designer 1 in Pascagoula, MS. This onsite position requires U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency.

Job Description:

Individual needed to support Planning Yard Electrical/Electronics group by way of preparing designs to support upgrades/modifications to Combat shipboard Electrical systems. Individual will be validating shipboard conditions and developing plans/sketches for new installs/upgrades on existing Navy Ships. Individual will also convert sketches/mark-ups into AutoCAD drawings as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Electrical or design apprenticeship programs and/or 4 years of experience in electrical field. Microsoft experience required.

Preferred Design Disciplines:

Candidate with AutoCAD skills a plus. Working knowledge of Electrical/Electronic systems on US Navy Surface Combatants. Candidate should have computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively when interfacing with other disciplines during the drawing development process. Must be able to ship check and provide detailed mark-ups to support drawing development. Requires working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft products. Must be able to work alone or as part of a team with minimum supervision during ship checks and in off-site office. Ability to obtain secret clearance required. Shipboard experience with the LCS, LPD17 and LHD/LHA classes of ships will be a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
