What are the responsibilities and job description for the Neurodiversity Affirming Board Certified Behavior Analyst position at Jersey Behavior Consulting LLC?
Job Overview
Jersey Behavior Consulting is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team part-time for afterschool, evening, and/or weekend cases. Our practice focuses on providing child-led, neurodiversity-affirming services grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) and assent-based practices. The ideal candidate will share our passion for supporting individuals with developmental differences, including autism, and for working in a way that honors the unique strengths and needs of every child and family we serve.
Responsibilities
- Conduct compassionate, strengths-based assessments to identify clients' challenges and abilities.
- Design and implement individualized support plans that are child-led, grounded in ACT principles, and emphasize collaboration and assent.
- Partner closely with families and caregivers, ensuring consistency in interventions across environments while fostering a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and child development.
- Provide training and in-the-moment support to caregivers to help them navigate dysregulation with connection-focused strategies.
- Collect and analyze data in a way that emphasizes progress and quality of life over compliance with external expectations.
- Maintain accurate and professional documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Advocate for neurodivergent clients in educational and community settings, promoting inclusive practices and systemic understanding of threat-sensitive nervous systems and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profiles.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in neurodiversity-affirming ABA and related disciplines.
Skills and Qualifications
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and licensure in New Jersey (or eligibility for licensure).
- Experience working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism and PDA.
- Knowledge of assent-based practices and an ability to develop plans that align with client goals, values, and readiness.
- Proficiency in ACT principles and applying them to support emotional regulation and skill-building.
- Strong skills in data collection and analysis, ensuring interventions are individualized and person-centered.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an empathetic and patient approach to families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practices, avoiding contrived reinforcers and focusing on naturalistic, developmental approaches.
Why Join Jersey Behavior Consulting?
