Jr. Accountant/Processor

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant/Processor to assist with morning processing, as well as general accounting & operations tasks. Basic accounting knowledge is required as well as familiarity with Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets. Join a credit union eager to help the members we serve in a back-office supporting role.

Duties

• Reconcile and settle daily Share Draft, ACH, ATM/Debit Card, Shared Branching, Mobile Deposit, and Zelle activity
• Processing of exception items, returned items, and other account posting errors as well as assisting in solving member issues or questions on EFT/ACH
• Daily reconciliation of cash account, outstanding checks, stop payments, return checks and unposted transactions.
• Ensure the accuracy of postings and resolve any discrepancies or unprocessed items
• Process ACH and share draft stop payments
• Assist with monthly account reconciliations on assigned accounts
• Assist with processing of incoming and outgoing wire transfers
• Perform payroll posting and process payroll deduction/direct deposit for members
• Assist with payment of credit union invoices
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of college (Business/Accounting concentration) or High School Diploma & equivalent work experience.
• A foundational understanding of accounting principles
• Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet experience is required.
• Credit union/banking experience is preferred but not required.
• Team player with a courteous attitude and ability to problem solve.
• Detail oriented with an ability to multi-task while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
