Position: Career Services Advisor

Role Summary:
The Career Services Advisor manages the employment process for graduates and non-completers by developing strategies for placement, building employer networks, and organizing career-oriented activities. This individual plays a key role in ensuring that students are prepared for and connected to employment opportunities aligned with their nursing education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Employer Network Management:
- Build and maintain a network of employers to promote hiring Jersey College graduates.
- Develop job leads through community engagement, employer outreach, and research.
- Organize meetings and calls with employers to promote recruitment.
- Assist employers with prescreening and interview coordination.
- Conduct annual employer satisfaction surveys and create action plans based on results.
2. Job Counseling Oversight:
- Assist students and graduates in identifying and securing employment opportunities in their field.
- Regularly communicate with graduates to track and enhance their job placement progress.
- Help students develop employability skills, resumes, and career goals.
- Coach students on job search strategies and techniques.
3. Workshops and Job Awareness Events:
- Plan and oversee job fairs, workshops, and other career-related events.
- Conduct graduate satisfaction surveys, analyze data, and recommend improvements.
- Administer and audit placement and licensure records.
4. General Support:
- Provide administrative support for career services and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of one year of related experience in counseling or an associate degree.
Core Skills:
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
