Position Statement
Under the direction of the Dean of Nursing, the Program Chair is responsible for the proper implementation of the curriculum by managing the theory and clinical faculty. Program Chairs have direct oversight of instructors and ensure that course and program objectives are properly achieved so as to meet nursing skill proficiencies and accomplish institutional NCLEX outcomes.

Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of Jersey Colleges philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through classroom, clinical teaching and service to Jersey College
- Oversee, manage and support operations of the nursing programs
- Management of Didactic and Clinical Faculty; those that are Registered Nurses and general education instructors
- Supervise clinical activities, including:
- Oversee instructional activities of faculty
- Monitor exams creation and ensure assessment standards are followed by faculty
- Determine and assign appropriate faculty workload and coordinate schedules with Dean of Nursing
- Initiate and manage faculty development
- Evaluate alternative books and supplementary materials as needed
- Champion new initiatives with the faculty
- Participate in faculty curriculum meetings
- Positively represent Jersey College to professional groups, organizations and the community at large
- Perform duties of a faculty member
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
- MSN Required
- Current license in State as a registered professional nurse
- 2 years of working experience in the area of education
- Ability to maintain and report on student information and track record of achieving goals
- Exceptional student/customer service, listening, and teamwork skills
- An outgoing, approachable style and a passion for helping students succeed
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
