Duties
- Monitor pedestrian traffic at designated crosswalks, ensuring safe passage for children and other pedestrians.
- Communicate effectively with drivers to manage traffic flow and ensure compliance with crossing signals.
- Utilize hand signals, flags, or other tools to direct traffic as necessary.
- Remain vigilant and alert to potential hazards in the surrounding environment.
- Provide first aid assistance if required, ensuring the safety of all individuals in the vicinity.
- Maintain compliance with relevant safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Document any incidents or safety concerns to report to appropriate authorities.
Experience
- Previous experience in a safety-related role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with both pedestrians and drivers effectively.
