What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Person position at Jersey Shore Area School District?
High School diploma or GED, experience in maintenance field or mechanical repair work, familiar with safe use of power tools, driver’s license and familiar with and comfortable using common computer applications.
Responsibilities:
Complete repairs of all building and grounds facilities as requested through work orders or direction of Director of Building and Grounds, including but not limited to:
Reading and interpreting blueprints for renovation and repairs
Repairs of plumbing equipment, sinks, toilets, etc.
Basic HVAC repairs and regular maintenance of heating and cooling systems
Troubleshooting and repair mechanical issues of district owned equipment
Install and maintain school safety equipment, exterior and interior doors, windows, fob systems, etc.
Interior and exterior painting
Maintenance of grounds and sports facilities, assist grounds keeper with duties when necessary for
Preparation of sports facilities for specific sporting events
Snow removal, plowing and shoveling, lawn mowing, leaf removal, weed whacking
Transport school supplies and other equipment * Perform miscellaneous custodial work as needed.
Order maintenance supplies in coordination with the Director of Building and Grounds.
Works with other maintenance employees to determine the best course of action for a required task.
Document repair and maintenance of items in work order system
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
