Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the warehouse, ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a thorough understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
General Responsibility: The warehouse employee will be responsible for the day to day operations of the JSASD warehouse. This includes receipt and inspection of all incoming goods, orderly storage of inventoried goods, dispersal of orders and supplies to school buildings, Orderly storage of idle equipment and courier activities within the district. The warehouse manager reports directly to the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
Reports To: Director of Building and Grounds.
Qualifications: High School graduate, be familiar with and comfortable using common computer applications, be able to lift 50 pounds, be able to operate common material handling equipment including floor jacks, carts and forklifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receipt of incoming goods according to standard procedure.
- Receive goods from carrier
- Inspect for damage
- Count packages
- Acknowledge receipt by signing bill of lading
- Report damage of product
- Report discrepancies in quantity with packing slip and/or the purchase order to
- Purchasing
- Disperse incoming orders and supplies to school buildings.
- Organize and stage incoming orders, food, cafeteria supplies and other inventoried
- supplies for delivery to various school buildings. (clearly mark packages with
- requisitioners name).
- Maintain log of orders to be delivered.
- Deliver materials to school buildings.
- Deliver incoming overnight letters immediately upon receipt.
- Organize warehouse inventory as directed by the Director of Building and Grounds.
- Maintain warehouse inventory.
o Keep storage area neat and clean.
o Report out of stock or low inventory situations to purchasing manager.
o Perform periodic stock level inspections.
o Store idle equipment and obsolete supplies for eventual reassignment or disposal.
o Check requisition requests against current supply.
- Perform courier duties as needed.
- Handle returns to vendors or other outgoing shipments as directed by the Director of Building and Grounds.
o Stage all outgoing shipments.
o Schedule carrier for pickup when necessary.
o Maintain log of outgoing shipments including copies of packing slips and building delivery paperwork.
- Other duties as directed by the Director of Building and Grounds.
