The Trauma Registrar is responsible for data collection, abstraction and the analysis of trauma registry data. This position evaluates and interprets patient data in reference to ICD-10 and AIS coding classification. Complies with NTDS standards in analyzing data for diagnoses.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR), such as EPIC.
- Experience working with a registry
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or other related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Trauma Registrar for a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Any trauma registry course certification (Example: American Trauma Society (ATS) Trauma Registry) at hire or to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Trauma-specific ICD-10 Course Certification at hire or to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- AAAM AIS Course Certificate at hire or to obtain within 3 months of hire.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) Certification.
