The Assistant Director of Nursing position requires an individual who is dependable, self-sufficient and can easily multi-task. The Assistant Director of Nursing will assist with planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations. The position is charged with the responsibility to ensure the quality of care is delivered consistently to the resident population.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively manage the nursing department related to residents, employees, visitors, and the public.
- Assist with ensuring nursing staff is providing quality and appropriate resident care that meets or exceeds company and regulatory standards.
- Assist with overseeing the provision of appropriate medications, treatments, and general nursing services according to the resident’s care plan and physician directed orders.
- Assist in scheduling and perform resident rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
- Assist in maintaining administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for the proper charting and documentation of care and of medications and treatments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Valid MO State license as an RN.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing in a long-term care environment.
- One to three (1-3) years of management or supervisory experience in long-term care, acute care, restorative or geriatric nursing.
