Description
JES Tech is seeking a Pressure Vessel/ Piping System Inspector to support NASA’s human spaceflight programs at Johnson Space Center (JSC). This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to work on ground-based pressure vessels and pressurized systems (PVS). The inspector will be responsible for inspecting and witnessing testing of these systems, providing technical support and consultation as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform system and pressure vessel inspections for certification
- Witness relief valve set tests
- Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests
- Review and approve/disapprove written procedures and associated documentation
- Review and approve/disapprove vendor test reports for component certification
- Provide technical support and inspection consultation as needed
- Present training classes to JSC personnel
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Possess an API 510 pressure vessel inspection certification (must be active)
- Possess an API 570 piping inspection certification (must be active)
- Experience in application of ASME, API, ANSI, and DOT codes and standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
SKILLS/TRAINING
Required:
- Demonstrated capability to apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems that require innovative approaches.
- Ability to interface effectively with engineers, scientists, and technicians at all levels.
- Extensive and detailed knowledge of testing or operational processes employed in applicable areas.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for presenting training and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
