Job Purpose
Employees in this role facilitate interactive activities and events that assist JESPY clients in working on core life skills, socialization, and physical and intellectual well-being.
Responsibility
This position provides supports the day to day programming / activities / groups / trips of the Engagement & Enrichment Program.
Essential Functions
- Attends monthly EEP staff meetings.
- Facilitates high quality, purposeful on-site programming
Plans and implements beneficial, skill-building groups for clients on-site & virtually.
Instructs group involvement for participants at a variety of skill levelsEnforces safety rules and intervenes in physically or emotionally harmful behaviorModifies activities to support the needs of specific individuals or groupsEnsures all materials are set up at the start of a group, and that all materials are put away when the group finishes.Communicates with the EEP Assistant Supervisor or Engagement manager to convey success of activities and develop beneficial programs for the futureAdministers emergency medications according to JESPY protocol, in accordance with DDD policies.Ensures the physical, emotional, and intellectual welfare of clients during coverage or while conducting an activity.Must be able to operate JESPY vans to assist with client transportation needs.Completes all necessary paper and electronic documentation including, but not limited to, daily progress notes, attendance sheets, client assessments, Foothold documentation, etc.Opens the café in the morning and secures JESPY buildings at the end of weekday or weekend use. While at either site, all present staff are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the area.Collects and keeps accurate records of all receipts and finances while out on community-based trips, and ensures all appropriate documentation is returned to the lead counselor or supervisor.Cooperates with licensee and DDD staff during any inspection or investigation.Other responsibilities may be assigned based on needs of the department.Qualifications
Qualifications Include :
High School Diploma1-2 years working with individuals with learning or developmental disabilities preferred.Good communication and people skills.Valid driver’s license is required.Some computer skills are required.Competencies

Knowledgeable about the person-centered approach to service delivery. As an empathic listener, remain patient, listen carefully and offer appropriate feedback to clients served.Maintain strict and professional boundaries particularly regarding confidentiality.Understanding of learning and developmental disabilities and best approaches to working with clients with these disabilities.Communicates effectively in writing; completes all time sensitive written and electronic documents.Skilled at collaborating well with other members of the interdisciplinary team.Proficient with Foothold EHR, Microsoft Word and ExcelReports and / or documents, in a concise, understandable, and legible manner in the electronic health record (EHR), Foothold. Progress notes need to demonstrate a direct relationship to the achievement of treatment goals as defined in the ISP or the Annual Case Evaluation. Completion of daily logs, accident reports, incident reports, outcome data sheets and all appropriate paperwork.Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
All staff must be available to work regular weekend (Saturday or Sunday) and evenings (Weekdays, 12pm 8pm).Must be flexible with schedule and must be available to work hours as assigned.Special Working Conditions / Physical / Requirements – Working Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
