Job Overview
Jess Bakeshop is a startup bakery focused on artisanal sourdough, pastries and sweets with a creative twist. We expect to open end-October. We are looking for a barista/cashier who is professional, friendly, and excited to work in a positive environment. Our new bakeshop is all about our craft, professionalism, compassion, and building a supportive community. We’re excited to welcome a team player who wants to grow with us as our bakeshop expands.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks following recipes
- Operate coffee brewing equipment with precision and care
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front of house area
- Maintain a professional appearance in a clean uniform at all times
- Assist in unloading deliveries, stocking and rotating products
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- 2 years experience barista at specialty coffee shops, artisanal bakery/cafe (highly preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong multitasking skills, with a warm and professional approach
- Excellent team player who thrives in a respectful, non-toxic work culture
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling
- Knowledge of food handling safety
- Attention to detail
- A flexible schedule and availability to work on weekends and holidays
- Passion for coffee and comprehensive knowledge of different coffee beverages and techniques
- Knowledge of sourdough, baked goods, pastries, cakes is preferred
- Be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
