Job Summary
Jess Bakeshop is a startup bakery focused on artisanal sourdough, pastries and sweets with a creative twist. We expect to open end-October. Our new bakeshop is all about our craft, respect, compassion, and building a supportive community. We’re excited to welcome a team player who wants to grow with us as our bakeshop expands.
We are looking for an experienced and talented pastry baker who has a minimum one year of hands-on experience in crafting pastries, lamination and other dessert items including cakes.
Weekend and Holidays availability is a must.

Experience
- Must have 1 years of professional experience in baking pastries and other desserts (cookies and brownies etc)
- Lamination experience is a must
- Cake decoration experience is a plus
- Strong commitment to quality, creativity, and consistency
- Ability to work early hours
- Pastry school graduate is a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of viennoiserie and pastries, other dessert items such as cookies, brownies, cakes etc.
- Multitasking while mixing and preparing batters and dough
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and organized in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain inventory of ingredients and baking supplies and place orders as needed.
- Support other team members as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Pastry Baker or in a similar role in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Understanding of baking techniques and recipes and how baking ingredients interact and explore creative uses for them.
- Understand how fillings are made and used
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high quality
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs
- Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work: early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Cake decoration skill is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
