JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Homeless Liaison Support
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred BSW or other human service field
REPORTS TO: Homeless Liaison
PURPOSE: To work closely with the Homeless Liaison to identify homeless families and support those families needs. To provide tutoring opportunities in the community for homeless families and students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with School Counselors, Family Resource Center Coordinators and Homeless Liaison to identify homeless families.
- Supports the academic, welfare, and social emotional needs of homeless families and children.
- Participates within the educational system as a team member on Homeless Liaison, district, and state committees.
- Assists students with development of post secondary educational and career goals for homeless students.
- Provides individual and group tutoring to homeless students with identified concerns and needs.
- Provides responsive services to homeless students and families.
- Serves as an advocate for homeless students by consulting and collaborating effectively with parents, guardians, and other educational resources.
- Organizes and coordinates homeless student recognition programs and transition events.
- Works in conjunction with the Attendance Advocate, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Homeless Liaison to support individual homeless students.
- Adheres to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of their profession.
- Participates in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Homeless Liaison.
