Marketing and Development Assistant
The Marketing and Development Assistant provides administrative support to the Marketing and Development team, assisting with social media, in-kind donations, event coordination, outreach materials, donor communications, and general department tasks to help advance the mission of Jessica’s House.
This position also requires being a staff lead on group nights as needed.

Marketing Support
- Provide backup support for social media manager as needed.
- Help schedule and coordinate content for social media and website updates.
- Manage inventory and ordering of outreach promotional items, brochures, and other print materials.
- Answer and direct incoming marketing and development phone calls, excluding donor-related inquiries.
- Track engagement and analytics for social media and email campaigns.
- Assist with press release distribution and media outreach.
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
Development Support
- Conduct research on pledges, grants, and prospective donors as needed.
- Maintain and update donor mailing lists.
- Assist with donor communications that do not require a relationship-building component, such as sending invoices, processing platform transitions, and payment reminders.
- Support the department with administrative tasks such as note-taking, follow-up assignments, and document gathering.
- Serve as the first point of contact for in-kind donation inquiries, handling phone calls, messages, and coordination.
- Assist with event planning, including vendor communication, invitations, mailing lists, and logistics.
- Help coordinate fundraising campaigns including year-end appeals and direct mailers.
Other Duties:
- Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously and proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
- Facilitating support groups as needed.
- Support group facilitator
- Act as staff lead for assigned group nights
- Mandated reporting if needed
- Securing doors/gates - last one to leave
- Facilitating groups as outlined in Jessica’s House training and manual
- Provide offsite support as needed for critical incidents
Requirements:
- Experience – two years' experience in administrative, marketing and/or fundraising.
- Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data.
- An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attend Jessica’s House volunteer training.
- Being certified in CPR and completing mandated reporter training.
- Completing continuing ed in marketing, fundraising and grief support practices as needed.
