Key Responsibilities
- Creating, maintaining, and refreshing Oracle database instances
- Monitor, maintain and support Jesta Client Databases on-premises and/or on the cloud.
- Monitoring of these databases promptly and efficiently addressing performance or maintenance issues as they occur.
- Providing expert assistance in setting up instances, tablespaces, tables, indexes, views, etc.
- Backing up, restoring, recovering and refreshing production, test, development, quality assurance and other environments.
- Database and application upgrade. Create and test script to upgrade applications schema to the latest release.
- Working with application developers to create and enforce development standards/procedures to guarantee acceptable database performance levels.
- Application and database performance tuning.
- Installing, upgrading and maintaining Oracle database as well as Oracle Weblogic software products/versions including security patches.
- Providing technical input to improve these strategies to rapidly recover any loss of data due to system or user errors.
- Middleware experience (IIS / Weblogic) a plus
- Required Experience:
- 5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration in a medium to large-sized organization.
- Proficiency in SQL Scripting and Shell Scripting.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Highly motivated and self-starting.
- Independence; ability to handle pressure; flexibility; dependability; coordination.
- Hard Skills:
- In-depth, senior-level experience with Oracle versions between 11g and 19c. Experience with DBCS on OCI is a plus.
- Experience in building, configuring, monitoring, and implementing Oracle technology.
- Strong customer service commitment and excellent communication and customer relationship skills, with the ability to build solid relationships across various organizational levels.
- Strong organization, planning, project management, multi-tasking, and execution skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage and quickly adapt to changing requirements, special assignments, and workload prioritization.
- Experience managing Oracle databases on Linux and Windows servers.
- Expertise in backup and recovery, database performance monitoring, and tuning.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL, SQL Plus, and/or PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of Information Management and Data Management principles, practices, and processes, including in-depth knowledge of data modeling and database design.
- Ability to interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Travel Requirements:
- Rare (5%).
- Language Skills:
- Perfect knowledge and usage of the English language.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Above-average University Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Oracle Professional Certification preferred.
- Location & Work Authorization: This role is based in the United States and involves working with U.S. clients. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship. U.S. citizenship may be required due to client contractual obligations.
