Machinist
Reports to: Tool and die manager
7:00 A.M – 3:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Some overtime and weekend work may be required as needed.
Summary/Objective
JOB DESCRIPTION
The machinist will be responsible for initial set up, repair, and debugging of various progressive stamping dies and fabrication tools.
Essential Functions

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
Limited travel may occasionally be required for this position.

The machinist will be responsible for initial set up, repair, and debugging of various progressive stamping dies and fabrication tools.

- This person will be responsible for initial set up and inspection of stamping dies.
- This person will perform unscheduled maintenance and preventative maintenance on tooling and dies.
- This person will be responsible for tracking inventory of die components, tooling, and sensors for various equipment and dies.
- This person will sharpen, shim, replace, and maintain progressive die components.
- Inspect dies and or alter die components to ensure specific operational performance and optimum efficiency.
- Be familiar with Microsoft programs. Excel, word.
- Ability to maintain safety, effectively communicate, and follow directions.

- Tow motor operation

Required Education And Experience
- Technical training; exposure to heavy equipment.
- Familiar with stamping equipment and progressive dies.
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience using surface grinders, lathes, Bridgeport mills, and heat-treating processes.
- Completion of a successful apprenticeship program/ Journeyman tool and die card.
- Related experience with production machines.
- Associate degree or equivalent education/experience in machine trades.
