What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tooling Engineer position at Jet Technologies?
Minimum Requirements
· CAD proficiency using SolidWorks.
· Blueprint creation and basic knowledge of GD&T.
· Understanding of tool and fixture design principles.
· Knowledge of construction and fabrication techniques.
· Exceptional attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Additional Desired Skills
· Previous experience in the design and fabrication of vacuum form tooling.
· Understanding of vacuum forming manufacturing, and CNC routing.
· Familiarity with Mold/Tooling materials (Tooling Board, Urethane, Fiberglass/ceramic etc.).
· Preference given to candidates with hands-on CNC pattern design/cutting.
· Surface Modeling proficiency in SolidWorks.
· 5-axis CNC programming with MasterCAM.
· College degree in Engineering or similar STEM field.
Essential Functions
· Design vacuum forming molds and tooling.
· Design tooling for drape forming.
· Design any fixtures needed for manufacturing.
· Create blueprints for the fabrication of above items.
· Provide engineering expertise, guidance, and support for tooling fabrication.
· Provide engineering recommendations for tooling design options.
· Provide technical expertise for complicated tool repairs.
· Work with manufacturing to find opportunities to change or create tooling and fixtures in order to reduce manufacturing costs (VA/VE).
· Other duties as assigned.
· Reports to the Engineering Manager.
