Position Summary
The Instructor Inflight Training is a highly motivated and detail oriented individual who is responsible for delivering instruction and conducting training evaluations for JetBlue new hire and existing Inflight Crewmembers. The Instructor delivers instruction and evaluation of both technical and non-technical information with energy, passionate enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Facilitator in classroom and simulator instruction
- Complete necessary administrative duties in preparation for scheduled classroom sessions
- Assists Supervisor, Inflight Training with special projects and facilitates joint training sessions with Flight Department (TEM, Emergency Situations Training, etc.)
- Periodically works as an Inflight Crewmember
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
- One (1) currently qualified as a JetBlue Inflight Crewmember OR One (1) year prior experience as a Flight Attendant in another Part 121 carrier
- Successfully complete JetBlue Airways Inflight Training Program, including Initial Training and Annual Continuous Education Programs
- Must have the ability to walk comfortably down the aircraft aisle while facing forward, fit quickly through the over wing exit, and sit in the Flight Attendant jumpseat without modification
- Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds from the floor to above the shoulders
- Able to reach six feet three inches (6’3”) without shoes
- Able to prepare and administer oral and written examinations
- Able to work varying schedules including reserve duty, weekends, evenings, holidays and last minute drafting if needed
- Remain composed in a demanding, fast-paced work environment and take control in unexpected situations
- Available for occasional overnight travel (up to 25%)
- Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States on a frequent basis
- Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One (1) year training/instructing experience
- Two (2) year experience as a Flight Attendant in another Part 121 carrier
- Demonstrated ability to coach others and motivate and mentor students
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Need to work flexible hours and shift work, and be available to respond on short-notice
- Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
