Position Title: Supervisor Aircraft Ground Repositioning (JFK)


Position Summary

The Supervisor Aircraft Ground Repositioning (AGR) is responsible for overseeing the safe movement and repositioning of aircraft within the station and hangar and remote locations, as well as maintaining records of all move and irregular operation activities. The AGR Supervisor will coordinate training, onboarding and development of the frontline crewmember base. Adherence to the Ground Operations Manual (GOM), station move policies and Port regulations are strictly required. The Supervisor will also perform additional tasks as outlined by the Move Team Manager as needed.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily workforce schedules for all Aircraft Ground Repositioning (AGR) crewmembers

  • Review department staffing needs for upcoming shifts and make recommendations based on forecasts

  • Monitor all aircraft moves within the station and hangar and remote locations during the course of a shift

  • Track mandated Move Team training as directed by the Manager to ensure the Aircraft Ground Repositioning (AGR) team remains in compliance with all the training requirements

  • Schedule and coordinate the DR3 recurrent classes for frontline crewmembers

  • Track and file aircraft move logs (CS121) and equipment safety logs (CS100)

  • Is accountable to senior management for ensuring the safety and security of Aircraft Movement

  • Conduct safety evaluations and station audits

  • Ensures that policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with applicable federal regulations and standards

  • All other duties as assigned


Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

  • Must be at least 18 years old

    • Three (3) years of ramp and push-back experience in the airline industry

    • Complete fluency in written and spoken English; must be able to read, write, and speak English

  • Able to travel and/or work variable hours, flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends

  • Ability to perform under pressure and fixed time constraints

  • Must be able to give and receive verbal communication

  • Must be able to use handheld radios and microphones to communicate

  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge

  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)

  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

  • For internal candidates, good standing in attendance performance and safety


Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous Aircraft Ground Repositioning (AGR) experience

  • Experience towing aircraft (AC) on Active taxiways

  • Ability to perform under pressure and fixed time constraints

  • Bilingual skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive but able to recognize and support JetBlue’s preferences and priorities

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse personalities in a tactful manner


Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.


Equipment:

  • Computer and other office equipment

  • Jet bridge and/or air stairs (Customer enplaning/deplaning equipment)

  • Handheld radios

  • Light Emitting Diode (LED) screens and signs

  • Ground operations service equipment such as tugs, trucks, aircraft push back tractor

  • Ground Service Equipment otherwise not specified


Work Environment:

  • Office environment (25%)

  • Airport environment (75%)

  • Outdoors/Indoor training

  • Subject to weather and elevated noise levels within airports

  • Shift work and irregular hours


Physical Effort:

  • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and/or seventy to one hundred (70-100) pounds occasionally with the assistance of other people or tools and be in a position where bending, crouching, kneeling, etc. is needed.


Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is between $63,000 and $77,000 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
